Antibody-biotin fusion proteins are attractive agents for targeting different biotinylated antigens (e.g., streptavidin) to cells via IgG-binding immunoliposomes. Herein we describe the production of a novel series of antibody-biotin hybrid proteins. The synthesis of these hybrids uses Fmoc solid-phase peptide synthesis. Key features of this strategy include the choice of a cysteine residue at the N terminus of the corresponding peptide and the incorporation of biotin, prepared by biotin synthase, in place of the cysteine during Fmoc solid-phase synthesis. The sequence of the protein after cleavage and removal of the linker, and subsequent biotinylation, is confirmed by electrospray mass spectrometry. The new biotinylated hybrid proteins were tested as inhibitors of E-selectin-mediated cell adhesion and as inhibitors of ligand-induced tyrosine phosphorylation. These new biotinylated hybrid proteins provide a new reagent set for this area of research.Q:
“Auto” column in a database
I have a fairly simple database to create an Instagram-style kind of social media site, here is a simplified version of what I am trying to do;
id name image date_uploaded
1 foo image1.png 2014-01-01
2 bar image2.png 2014-01-02
3 fox image3.png 2014-01-03
Basically, I want to be able to edit the date_uploaded column from the homepage/index template. When viewing the current date, I want the name to be shown in the date_uploaded column, but when the page is refreshed, I want the date_uploaded column to update automatically.
Is there any way of doing this? I am very new to PHP, so please, if possible, keep it simple 🙂
