Dynamic EQ (Equaliser) is a powerful yet easy-to-use plugin, which allows you to change the frequency response of your music with the push of a button.
Dynamic EQ works by processing the original music through the EQ plugin, calculating the resulting signal and adding the resulting signal to the side-chain. This allows you to control the input gain of the EQ plugin through the audio channel it’s connected to.
It works on any stereo or mono audio channel.
Dynamic EQ has two main advantages over traditional EQ plugins:
1) The amount of gain applied to the side-chain is calculated in real-time, which means that the impact of the change in the EQ plugin on the audio is immediate.

 Smooth Band Equaliser (BBE)
Smooth Band Equaliser (BBE) is a classic band-pass filter, which modifies the spectrum of a signal by passing a filter through the frequency range of interest, and adding the same filter to the opposite side of the frequency spectrum.
The BBE algorithm applies a similar technique to linear frequency response of an audio signal. The technique adds a filter to the original signal, and subtracts the filter from the opposite side of the spectrum, so that the amount of the filter applied to the original signal becomes less, as the frequency moves away from the centre of the spectrum.
 Smooth Band EQ

Aphex Twin’s minimalistic visual aesthetic has been interpreted and brought to life by videographer and visual artist Gemma Martinez. Maestro Twin’s “Black Screen” came to life as an abstract piece of movable 3D-mapped space, similar to the windows that one might see on a 3D-mapped personal computer, with its own set of controls.
The interactive fractal was made to have a raw, minimalist aesthetic. Martinez provides the viewer with a means of entering into the experience, by manipulating the sets of controls that are designed to provide the actual piece of music that drives the piece. The viewer experiences the art in the way he or she desires, and the piece then becomes an entirely new and personal experience.
The entire piece is presented as a free demo, with instructions, of how one might go about creating an interactive fractal, in lieu of the included audio. The three-minute piece is a tribute to the American producer’s interest in music, games, technology, and the internet.
At first glance, this one is more of a technical feat, as it’s the first time that something as interactive as a fractal, has been rendered in 3D. However, even with the 3D-rendering, the audio component of the work is also a testament to the computer music community’s constant interaction with the world of visual art.
In order to recreate this piece, Gemma made extensive use of several different computer programs, such as Sound Forge and 3D Studio Max. Martinez shares, “In the past, when I wanted to make a video on Aphex Twin, I would rely on programs that were not often used by the video community. This piece was a great opportunity for me to see how powerful 3D Studio Max could really be. The creation was extremely visual and included a lot of animations in a very short time.
